About Tékkil

What is Tékkil?

Launched in 2019, Tékkil is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting and supporting professionals in the Senegalese Diaspora.

The mission of Tékkil is to contribute to the success of Senegalese Diaspora professionals through networking, education, training, and community engagement, as well as to foster personal and professional growth amongst the community.

What does Tékkil mean?

Tékkil has many meanings in the Wolof language. At the surface level, its root word tékki means ‘translate’, but in a much wider sense, it has a deeper meaning of ‘give purpose’. We decided to take on the word in its actionable form: tékkil. The word resonates with us and our mission to empower and advance our members.

Who leads Tékkil?

Tékkil is led by members who volunteer their free time to ensure all members can take advantage of membership at no cost. If you are interested in helping, please contact us at info@tekkil.org.

Is Tékkil a 501(c)3 organization?

Yes, Tékkil is a 501(c)3 charitable organization which means you should be able to deduct donations on your annual tax forms. We recommend you consult with a tax professional for more information.
